We love AI-powered tools at MasterStack, and in our Attention Insight Preview we are going to cover a tool that aims to give feedback to designers so they can make adjustements and improvements to anything, be it a website, app or just their facebook post.
As usual, this is a preview where we can explore the core concept of the tool, what it promises and how it’s being received so far, whether we can see any anomalies and the deal pricing.
I am also not a designer not UI/UX expert by any means, so most of these concepts are at the fringe of my knowledge. However, we all have to make a graphic here, banner there, so it’s even more important.
What is Attention Insight and Why?
There’s always an idea and intent behind anything we create, be it the look of a website or an advertisement banner. We have a message, and we want to deliver it.
Our receipients however do not have knowledge of our idea and intent, and they will only look at what we show. If in our mind it is perfectly clear, sometimes they’ll only see chaos instead. If we want them to look at the image but they’re distracted by a weird color at the other side, they won’t look at it.
These are all things we blindly stumble upon, sometimes we ask for feedback to one person, sometimes to more. Big companies have case studies and a more scientific approach, but it gets very expensive very quickly.
Yet everyone, from the small website to the big company, needs to be able to properly convey their messages via their design and graphics, among other things.
This is where Attention Insight supposedly comes to the rescue: They have developed an AI after data from thousands of people and tests. This AI is able to generate heatmaps and clarity scores automatically and in seconds.
Their website shows realistic results, comparable to real humans, and if that is true, this means we can have real feedback we can work with to improve our designs, with just seconds and at a different scale of expense.
While we’re here, let’s do our Presentation Check!
- They have a Roadmap publicly available
- They have Documentation, available right here.
How do you use Attention Insight?
They have plugins for Adobe XD and Sketch, along with a Chrome Extension to use to easily check websites, and also you can just upload images and have comparisons.
As I said earlier, I am not a designer or graphics expert, but I have to dabble in graphics often enough, of various kinds. Anything that gives me actionable feedback I can use to improve is something I very much like. Let’s check the price
Attention Insight AppSumo Pricing
As mentioned already, this kind of activity and tools of this type tend to scale very quickly to high costs, so let’s see the normal Attention Insight pricing, so we can have an idea of how good the AppSumo deal is:
As we can see, the Attention Insight AppSumo deal provides us with the same benefits as the Team plan, and we get 100 designs and 3 users per each stack after the first. At 3 stacks, we also don’t have branding on the analysis.
We’re Counting Design
Designs are how Attention Insight measures consumption: each time we use it to analyze a website, image or compare something, we get one design deducted. As such, we choose how many stacks depending on how much we plan to rely on Attention Insight on a monthly basis.
We believe this is a fair amount of allowance, and the white branding possibility is also quite good.
Attention Insight Preview Consideration
At MasterStack we are tinkerers and explorers, we are not designers but we love improving and having feedback on what we do. Attention Insight seems to be doing just that, so we’re definitely on-board, but there’s also much we do not know just from a Preview as this is something we really need to get our hands on to understand the possibilities.
We look forward to trying it out, and expect an Attention Insight Review.
