MasterStack Tools Update 18th April 2021

Hey! Another new thing I want to start: Updates on tools I use or look for.

I will post once every now and then (Week? Every few days?) either about updates on AppSumo tools I use, or updates on research on tools I am considering.

Tools I’m Using

Beagle Security

I signed up and immediately took it for a spin. I am not a security expert, I know a fair bit but not really enough to be considered an expert. The process was very easy and within minutes the test was ongoing.

It took a lot of time, I’m talking 12 hours+, but it worked and the report was neat. Happy with this so far.

WebTotem

I wanted a WAF that wasn’t oversensitive, so I installed this on one website. It was very easy to implement and set. So far I haven’t had any issues, but I’ll want to wait a few more days before I’m very happy with it.

One thing I don’t really like too much is that I cannot bulk edit IP whitelists and blacklists. That being said, on the other side, the interface looks great and reports are great too. I had to add my API key twice, so we’ll see in the next days how it works. Looks good overall, so far.

Squirrly SEO

I already was using SEO Plugins on WordPress, trying various ones, so I wasn’t sure this one would work. I installed it on two websites so far, seems to have imported my previous plugin and seems to work well.

The UI is… not the best, a bit over the place, but overall it works. There are a TON of features, but the onboarding tries to make it easy, and succeeds so far. I’m going to need a couple weeks to see how this works, but it seems better than I expected, I like it so far.

Gravitec

I have never used Push Notification plugins before. I want to avoid them being spammy, but it is nice when people are notified about genuinely interesting content they want to read about. In that sense, I wanted to try it out. Setup was easy, it just works and I’ve applied it already here. Let’s see in a few weeks how it’s going, so far so good.

Keyword Hero

Devs announced they won’t have an agency plan. Meaning whether it’s 1 project only at a time, with up to two stacks for each project, and if we want more websites, we need to buy more stacks. That’s how it is. Even so, it does work well as the tool is supposedly amazing and it’s a praised SEO tool. I am trying it out on a website right now, setup was easy, and we will see in a few weeks how it is, as it needs time to gather data.

WP Compress

I already had a previous account, but I appreciate WP Compress and its dev, so I went for it and added Masterstack to it. Not a problem, it works very well and it’s a great Image Optimization tool + CDN. Great to have.

Conclusion

A few quick updates and overall I am happy with the tools I am trying out for now. I will share updates over the next few days, hoping it all works as well as it is now.
