Missinglettr Review 2020

First review for MasterStack! This is a missinglettr review, a tool included in the Briefcase subscription as of the 15th of May 2020 (Briefcase subscription included tools are not set in stone and may change at any time) and this is all up to that date.

We have a briefcase preview and briefcase review for more info.

We have been looking at tools to handle social media for a long time and while there are many, finding one that fits one’s needs is not quite obvious, easy nor cheap.

What we have here is a specialized social media management tool: Missinglettr is made with blogs and content creators in mind, as it allows to quickly create long drip campaigns over to social networks with unique content for each post, taken right from your very same posts.

So while we can already anticipate Missinglettr is not a tool to handle ALL social media, it might just be a great tool for a specialized use.

The supported social networks are:

  • Facebook (Pages and Groups)
  • Twitter
  • LinkedIn (Personal and Company)
  • Medium re-post
  • Google My Business (soon)

There is no instagram yet. It is planned, but as with most social media tools, Instagram is annoying to provide and deal with, so it’s rarely there, and if there is, it’s usually with… annoyances on the user part as well or extra fees / integrations.

There is a public roadmap available here.

This is our expectation going in this.

What We Get In the Briefcase Plan

Briefcase plan gives us access to:

If we go on the Missinglettr website, here’s what we can see for their pricing plan:

We can see the value in this gem of a deal. We’re getting a little more than 3 times what the Pro plan gives, which is priced at 39$ per month and all the features of the Pro plan and more, like an additional team member included.

This is, at the moment, part of the Briefcase subscription, for which we have a briefcase preview and briefcase review.

Value-wise, it’s packed, can’t really ask for more.

Setting up Missinglettr

From what we’ve seen, Missinglettr could be quite useful for masterstack, as it would allow us to get the word out on our articles, previews and reviews. We write content, and Missinglettr helps you deliver it to most social networks, get it out uniquely overtime and does so without taking significant amount of time away from content writing. Win-win-win, according to our expectations, right?

The onboarding

After getting the Briefcase subscription, we can easily click on the link in the products page and claim our link. Registering to Missinglettr is easy and after we’re done registering, we get asked to add our first website. After doing that, Missinglettr will pull from the RSS feeds and prepare campaigns for us to review, check out and then it’s off!

Before we do that though, we should add our social profiles

Set out Dates & Times

So that we can specify when and when Missinglettr can post on each social, how many times a day and which days

Review the Schedule Templates

Which is what Missinglettr uses to plan out the drip campaign (default ones are 12-6-2 months and 2 weeks at different frequencies)

Review the Content Templates

which means we can customize the templates Missinglettr uses to automate the campaign it creates for us

Branding

You can customize each website with bubbles (quotation images that are used on your templates) and themes

We can also use pre-made templates that are available by going to “Theme Library”

We can then edit each template to our own liking, there’s a lot of customization available

Check Website Settings

We can check out our website details, auto fetch articles and what not from here, just to make sure everything is alright.

That’s it, by the time we’re done checking this out, Missinglettr has most likely finished importing posts and preparing our campaigns to brief, so let’s head over to that and create our first campaign!

Setting up a Campaign

By now you should have some posts ready to prepare your campaign. Once Missinglettr pulls your posts in the queue, it will work on them and prepare some campaigns with your default settings, which you can then review, approve and launch.

As we create our campaign, we then check each posts and can either add images, or have bubble images automatically generated by taking quotes from our posts:

After we prepare each post, our campaign is ready and we can see our campaigns on the calendar

That’s it! Our campaign is now running and we can just keep on doing that for each post we want to promote. Very easy process for well working and unique results. Missinglettr adds a little tinge of uniqueness in all our social posts, and it uses our content in doing so. Brilliant!

Extra Ts

There are also many features such as autotagging UTMs so you can differentiate with analytics, which are also offered within the app itself, but UTMs allow google analytics and other providers to pick them up as well. Automatic url shortener, etc.

Credit where Missinglettr Credit is due

The way this works is nothing short of awesome and it allows to quickly create real and unique campaigns for your content.

There is, however, the other side: this is a VERY focused tool, centered around content creators. If you are not among those, then there might not be value here. Also, this is probably not enough for a complete social media strategy, as you should integrate in other ways.

That being said, having curated campaigns around your content made this quickly is the basis for anything you want to do with your blog or website.

You can (and should) always add another social media tool for extra posts and campaigns unrelated to your direct posts, as Missinglettr seems to work well with others, it shouldn’t be an issue.
