No rest for the AppSumo-lings! In our Pixteller Preview we will look at the newest addition to the graphic tools offered by AppSumo at a Lifetime Deal.

Pixteller my future
Bad puns are our specialty! Let’s check out what Pixteller offers.
There are various tools like Pixteller, and their aim is to help anyone get good-looking images within just minutes. It’s not an Adobe competitor, but it’s perfect for catching your audience’s eye with a great Social Media post or video, or to promote an event, or an interesting post. We use those tools ourselves for our featured post images and for our video introductions.
As the tool category’s established, let’s check their Presentation:
- Documentation is available both in form of videos and through the explanation of each feature such as Graphic Maker, Animated Logo Maker, etc. Looks solid.
- Roadmap is available here. Pixteller seems to be developed consistently and receives updates overtime.
We can then move onto its main features: Photo Editor And Animation Maker.
Photo Editor
The Photo Editor seems robust and flexible, allowing many customizations. Among the features, we can consider:
- Stock Photos available
- Smart Resize (can change format size of the whole image)
- Crop and Clip Images
- Photo Effects
- Templates
I haven’t had the chance to try the editor yet (hence why it’s a Preview!), but I’ve particularly liked the fact that there is a button that shows all layers and allows us to select them. That way, we avoid the usual time wasted trying to select something that’s below some other layer. It’s really annoying when that happens!
As far as picture editing goes, Pixteller doesn’t seem to have an edge over its competitors on the same space. At the same time, it seems solid enough to use.
Animation Maker
This is where Pixteller seems to differentiate itself. You can usually add generalized entrance animations or upload your own videos, but Pixteller seems to go one step further:
There is a frame-by-frame timeline. It’s quite obviously simplified in comparison to professional video editors, but it means we can apply effects on each single frame for each item we put in our animation.
It does not seem complicated, and we could easily apply standard effects, while at the same time we could change backgrounds at different times and apply multiple effects at the same time.
We can check Templates on their website, and while some of those templates look like it’s 1999 again, they serve well to show the animation possibilities.
To note: It seems we cannot currently upload our own videos. PixTeller team said they’ll work on at least allowing videos upload as a background. We will see.
What’s the Pixteller AppSumo Deal?
Let’s check Pixteller’s normal pricing and see what we get in the AppSumo deal:
We cannot stack this deal, and we get all the features at one stack. One year of Pixteller Diamond Plan would normally cost 144$, so we get our money’s worth within just a few months, and we get unlimited use for the lifetime of the product.
As good as the deal is, there is however one important point to notice: it only gives us one user. While a team plan is in the works, it is not live yet and it’s not part of this deal, so what the creator suggests is to just share the account, if you need to have multiple people using it within your organization. If that does not work, you can purchase multiple stacks and create multiple accounts.
Depending on your needs, this might be a very important “Con”, or just something to consider. Either way, it’s something worth noting.
If that’s not an issue to you, the deal seems very solid price wise.
Pixteller Preview in Conclusion
While Pixteller Photo Editor seems good, its Animation Maker seems to be its distinguished feature.
I believe each tool can be best at a certain thing, so while I am not expecting PixTeller to be the only tool I will ever use, I believe its features allow for different types of animations than what I currently have at my disposal, thus am very interested in trying it out and hopefully adding it to my stack of graphic tools.
Our expectation is: We expect PixTeller to be a solid all-around tool with a better focus on animating our images, thanks to its frame-by-frame timeline.
